Wheatstone was retained to oversee the clean up of a sudden release of hydraulic oil that occurred during demolition activities on a MetroWest property abutting our client’s site. The release traveled along the ground surface onto our client’s property, which is currently an active construction site. The contractor, who worked with Wheatstone on prior redevelopment projects involving contaminated properties, contacted us to seek our assistance. On site, Wheatstone first confirmed that the proper authorities (MassDEP and the local Fire Department) were notified of the release. After assessing the spill area and extent of the release onto our client’s property the response action plan was discussed and modified to include removal of affected surface materials. Since there is a resource area also adjacent to the parcel Wheatstone recommended to the consultant and response contractor that the local conservation commission be notified of the release and ongoing response actions. Wheatstone will continue to provide 3rd Party Oversight to the response actions, monitoring the laboratory data, and reviewing the MCP paperwork prepared by the consultant on behalf of our client | ||
