WHEATSTONE Assists the Rocky Marciano Statue Committee in Brockton, Massachusetts

WHEATSTONE's principal and co-founder, Jim Murphy, L.S.P., was recently asked to assist the Rocky Marciano Statue Committee assess the soil conditions at the potential statue location. In June, the committee welcomed World Boxing Council (WBC) President Jose Sulaiman to Brockton for a two day celebration. The activities included: a visit to the proposed site adjacent to Rocky Marciano Stadium at Brockton High School; public presentations at City Hall; meetings with officials from the city, the statue committee, and the WBC; and, social gatherings at local establishments.

 

WBC President Sulaiman, after completing a "business meeting" focused on project details with the statue committee and Chairman Larry Siskind, announced that he would present Brockton Mayor Linda Balzotti with a gift, the statue, after it is completed in 2012. The statue will be designed and created by mexican sculptor Mario Rendon.

 

Jim, who was raised in Brockton and is also a Director with the Metro South Chamber of Commerce, is pleased to be a small part of this project, which means so much to the City of Champions and the region as a whole. The  20 foot high statue is scheduled to be unveiled on September 1, 2012, as part of a boxing weekend extravaganza.
