Third Party LSP Oversight

Wheatstone is experienced in the role of third party review and LSP observation of a disposal site managed by another LSP-of-Record. In this role, Wheatstone’s LSP will work cooperatively with all parties to discuss and observe response actions to meet project goals for our client.

There are several projects where multiple parties each require a Licensed Site Professional to document that a regulatory endpoint is reached in compliance with the Massachusetts Contingency Plan. This may involve a buyer and seller of property, owner and tenant, or PRP and Downgradient Property Status owner.

Wheatstone has accomplished this important role, on behalf of property owners to review remediation work conducted by tenants responsible for releases of petroleum to the environment.

Wheatstone has also completed this role for financial and insurance institutions, and for municipalities at disposal sites being remediated and redeveloped. Wheatstone documented the work to assure that requirements of the town, in addition to the MCP, were met.

Wheatstone continues to maintain an in-depth understanding of the role of a Licensed Site Professional, as it continues to evolve in Massachusetts (The LSP Practice in Massachusetts). Our company is active in a leadership role on the committees of the LSP Association, and in regulatory discussions with the MassDEP.
