WHEATSTONE's client owns property in Everett, Massachusetts that is within the boundaries of a large, historic disposal site, which is the responsibility of Keyspan. The contamination resulted from from earlier site operations when the larger area was owned and operated by Boston Gas.
Our client intends to develop the property, however the proposed work area includes some identified "hot spots" within the overall disposal site, which would require specific management. WHEATSTONE has negotiated with Ropes & Grey, representing Boston Gas/Keyspan, to assess the value of the impact to the retail property, including the future development restrictions based on the contaminants present.
WHEATSTONE assembled a design/development team including geotechnical, site civil, and general contractors to further assess potential development schemes to avoid "hot spots" and also work around other site limitations. The results of the team's assessment were subsequently utilized in the ongoing negotiations. This multi-year process represents a small segment of WHEATSTONE's varied services we provide to our clients. | ||
